Last week from Monday to Wednesday, the Royal Norwegian Embassy hosted its annual Transatlantic Science Week conference at the Washington Hilton. The event was a huge success, bringing speakers from the Peace Research Institute Oslo, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Research Council of Norway, as well as several Norwegian and American universities. The speakers were arranged into panels to speak on topics relating to “Shared Solutions to Common Challenges,” the title of this year’s event. Topics for the panels ranged from global trends in world conflict to MOOCs (massive open online courses).
Attendees left with a better sense of how U.S/Canadian/Norwegian research cooperation can lead to more comprehensive solutions to problems that all three countries face. The NACCMA would like to congratulate the Royal Norwegian Embassy on its successful Transatlantic Science Week 2013. We hope that even more of our members take advantage of this great opportunity next year!
